Mersey Tunnel Tour—£3 per person

Available on Tue, Wed and Thu evenings each at 5pm and Saturday mornings at 10am. The tour lasts 3 hours. There are many steps so the tour is not suitable for anyone with breathing or walking difficulties. The building is a working one and clothes may get dirty. Areas in the tunnel can get quite cold and appropriate clothing/footwear is essential. Children under the age of 10 years not allowed. Maximum two children per adult.

Mid week tour of the entomological collections and perhaps a visit to the Bug House Lab to look at the museum’s collections of insects and spiders. Optional visit to the Planetarium.

 

 

Secret Nuclear Bunker Hack Green near Nantwich

£6.30 adults, £4.50 children

This had been one of the nations most secret defence sites for almost sixty years. During World War II, Air Ministry officials selected Hack Green to locate the new Radio Detection and Direction Finding (RDF) equipment or radar as it came to be known. During the Summer the bunker is open everyday from 10.30am to 5.30pm.
