Definitions
Group – The St Helens Group of advanced Motorists, Affiliated to the Institute of Advanced Motorists (Registered Charity No: 1058971)
Group Resource Item – Advanced Driving Educational material in any the form such as DVD, CD or book held by the Group for the personal benefit of its members
Member – a current member of the Group who may have Associate or Member status of IAM membership
All current members of the Group are eligible to borrow group resource items subject to the following conditions:-
Terms and conditions
1. The information contained in the various Group Resource Items is for guidance only, which each borrower must ensure is used sensibly and moreover safely. Driving is never a black and white activity, but full of grey areas, therefore the Group cannot accept liability for any consequences you may experience as a result of following advice contained in Group Resource Items. You are the driver; You must be in safe control of your vehicle at all times.
2. A member can borrow an individual Group Resource Item for a maximum of two weeks
3. Members may be required to produce their IAM member/Associate card when borrowing stock to prove entitlement.
4. Group members must report any loss or damage to items borrowed. Except in exceptional circumstances, you will be a charged for replacement.
5. Members cannot borrow any items until details of their name; and if appropriate IAM member/associate number and signature is recorded. When returned the loan record will be updated accordingly.
6. You must comply with the terms of any restrictions and copyright notice displayed on or in its contents.
7. Typically this will mean ensuring that it is used for personal, private use and not for any direct or indirect commercial purpose. Moreover you agree that you will not infringe any rights, including intellectual property rights, of any person, including, without limitation, copying, reproducing, screening, republishing or otherwise modifying any material provided
8. Illicit removal or retention of any materials is a serious offence for which Group membership will be revoked and further action may follow
9. The following fines apply to overdue items: £1 per item per complete week (to maximum of £3 per item)
10. If a member incurs fines, all borrowing rights will be suspended until fees are paid.
11. Items can only be renewed twice by the member.
12. Members will pay replacement costs for damaged or lost items.
13. In case of any concerns please consult the Group Treasurer and in the case of an unsatisfactory outcome the Group Chairman.
